Typical PE Relocation Package
Trying to get a sense for what is typical for a relocation package for a mid-level in PE. Not sure if this matters, but this would from a tier 2 to a tier 1 city. Does anyone have any data points?

Had a mid-level PE client get $20k this summer to relocate to a tier 1 city. It wasn’t offered with the initial package, but it was negotiated. Also had a banking associate client get $20k to relocate from a tier 1 to a tier 2 city. Again, negotiated.
Can you give any advice on how these are negotiated?
Depends on the level, your negotiating leverage, the timing of the relocation (asap versus in a few months), etc.
Like most negotiations, you need to have a defensible ask backed by reasonable rationale and then take it from there.
was offered 10K from a tier 1 to tier 2 city.
From my circle of friends often don't see a separate relo bonus carved out, it's just all lumped into a signing bonus. Anecdotally for my current role was offered $15k upfront, then negotiated up to $25k.
