UVA McIntire - Not Great for Buyside

Interested in attending UVA next year, and I plan on pursuing some sort of job in finance following graduation. Like many others, though, working 80+ hour weeks has somehow lost its allure for me.. With that in mind, how is UVA's recruitment for buy side PE firms (and hedge funds)? So far, I've been able to find Point72, Jupiter Peak Capital, and Blackrock.

I went to UVA and now work at a top BB. Very few undergrad schools have decent buyside recruiting because very few buyside firms recruit undergrads. With that said, UVA does very well with placements into the buyside (generally after IB), especially among HF's like tiger cubs where there is a very strong UVA presence

If you can remember, was there any buyside recruiting for the cream of the crop? Also, I'm very interested in UVA. That said, during your time there and as you were going through job recruitment, did Greek life play a role in your success? And how does UVA Greek life receive Asians? Are they somewhat exiled from the system so to speak?

There were a few PE firms that recruited but the general mentality is to go to IB for a year or 2 and then exit. Most people didn't even want to consider buyside immediately because IB seems to keep more doors open.

In terms of Greek life - I was involved, but it had no impact on my success. Also, I know plenty of Asians who were in fraternities at UVA
