What Banker Processes Need Updating/Automating?
Not for their sake, but for yours? What's old fashioned or needlessly manual in the deal execution process that banks should update?
- CIMs sent in hard copy?
- Inability to send/receive text messages?
- "Please find attached version XVII of the Project [] WGL"?
- Physical signature pages?
- Lack of file sharing software (for collaborating on models, docs)?
- Other stuff?
Source files and commenting process for CIMs should be streamlined. Some sort of plugin for powerpoint where you link files to pages and get comments per page, even after you reshuffled.
All of the data room providers I've used are absolute garbage. Wish a vendor would come out that spent more on development costs than on drinks and game tickets to bribe people into using their terrible services

All of them? Really? Aren't most banks using Merrill/IntraLinks/Donnelley, and aren't those supposed to be the good ones?
They still all have things things that suck about them. Wish you could take the best of each and mash them together.

Logo intern has also been a big win for our team. Logo splash pages done in minutes instead of ours. Strip profiles are easier, etc.
Hate PIBs, logos, company profiles, and most slides.

I hate sell side process updates and buyer trackers. These are the worst part of my job by far
Standardizing working group lists across the street would make a huge difference, also automating it from Outlook. The hours spent formatting/reformatting WGLs at every bank is absurd.
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what DealSite does. Desktop and mobile WGL application for IB/PE, secure, with full Outlook import / export and email/calendar widgets. Some of the banks I work with use it and it's great.
