What is the normal expectation of an associate level?

Hi All,

I'm working for a PE fund in emerging market, and I know no one else in my circle that is working in a similar role. I want to benchmark on how much capacity are other associate level performing. Can you guys give me a color on what are your typical day-to-day tasks?

It'll be great if you also provide the following info:

- base salary vs. minimum wage multiple

- country domicile: develop/ developing country. I expect developed countries will have a more humane level of minimum wage vs. developing countries, hence lower salary multiple in general. And,

- team situation (no. of peers, no. of direct reports)

I'll start:

Tasks: company & financial overviews, create comps page, conduct industry research and data mining, write MoMs, making financial model but not entrusted with returns analysis as of now, lead the Q&A sessions with management, prepare PortCo periodic report, maintaining deal pipelines, and other small-small ad-hoc tasks.

Type of fund: MM fund
Year of being associate: 1st year associate

Base salary level: ~6x the average wage

Domicile: Developing country

Team situation: I am the only associate and report to more than 1 VP/Principal

Thanks for the insight beforehand.
