What would you consider a boutique Private Equity in Canada? What's there rankings?

Hi everyone, 1. For educational and information gathering purposes, I was wondering what are the best boutique private equity firms in Toronto, Canada? What makes each of them different and better?

  1. What do you think about doing strategy consulting in a boutique then trying to go into PE? is it doable? what would that path be as which Strategy consulting firm to which specific PE firm?

  2. I previously started a thread on how to get into PE in Canada and said I was going into MFin at Queen's, however, Since I am getting CFA level 2, I was advised by one of the replies to consider MBA. Which MBA would ultimately help me reach my goal? I am considering Ivey and Rotman because I believe they would be equally as good to position me for Consulting to PE, or maybe if I am super lucky to get into Pension Fund PE directly?

I would appreciate every insight possible on these points. I think we could all benefit from such discussion and experienced people's insights!

Thank you!
