What's Next? IB/ER/PortCo --> ?????

Brainstorming the next career move, looking for ideas, shared experiences, etc.

2-yr investment banking --> 4-yr sell side equity research --> 4-yr VP Finance at large PortCo, serving as CFO recently as team shrinks / winds down -->

Next? Role on the GP/sponsor side? PortCo CFO or something similar? Something else entirely?

I have a decent amount of transaction experience in regards to valuation / underwriting / financing.

But maybe not so much on all the more process-oriented stuff and more importantly the "negotiating complicated & lengthy legal docs" side of things... can't I just get a combo of the lawyers and experienced associates to handle the immense amount of work around legal docs + all process-oriented stuff?

kind of kidding but not totally ;)
