When to start worrying/networking for sophomore summer MF/UMM internships?

I'm a freshman at a target. Plenty of people at my school who have sophomore PE MF/UMM internships. Can't really ask 'em because I'm a bit detached due to covid. Asking this now because I know Junior year recruiting starts sophomore spring, and most people start networking for that early sophomore year. I guess I'll need to start networking soon for sophomore PE MF/UMM internships too. Also, I have no clue what OCR ACTUALLY is and how it works (the timeframe). I have no clue how it works for internships.

Wait, I have an idea! Email/Text/send a damn linkedin message to the upperclassmen at your school and figure out how they did it. No one is going to have more specific advice than the people who were in your exact shoes.

Yeah echoing above comments, talk to upperclassmen. Swallow whatever anxiety you have about it, they’ll be happy to talk to you and flex about their offers. Seriously don’t sweat it.

Also talk to your career services department. They should be able to walk you through what OCR looks like at your school. Ask specifically about PE.
