Will things change? WTF is on cycle

How tf are people going to be signing PE offers before even completing training? What is the point of IB recruiting if it is only getting earlier and earlier? Ik this isn't a new concept but wtf man...will this change at all in the coming years?

The kids who land on cycle might end up being super bad analysts or realize it’s not for them. Pretty stupid IMO. They have 0 deal experience.

Agreed lol it's literally just kids who happened to prep 2 months ahead of schedule

It’s ratios fault let’s keep it a buck

This is woefully wrong… not sure how exactly “buyside prep” is better than actual deal experience. From a hiring perspective, I’d rather hire the grinder analyst who chose to focus on excelling in their banking job and consistently performs at a high level (and doesn’t bail on me when times get tough in a competitive auction) than one who chose to spend more time playing the on cycle game than doing his/her current job.

Also you clearly aren’t up to speed on the recent discussion on the declining quality of analyst and associate classes over the years…

can you elaborate more on issues with associate classes? are people not completing their pe assoc stints or even starting them bc they recruited too early to even really understand banking?
