Winter 2020 Internships

Hi all,

I originally posted this on another forum but couldn't get a response.

I'm a student at a Canadian university who has a co-op term that starts next January. I would like to try to work in Europe if possible but my school doesn't really post any international jobs on our co-op job board (this is where most students find their jobs).

Ideally, I'd like to one day work in PE or VC focused on movies or other entertainment since thats what I really enjoy. I'd also want to try and get an entry-level quant position at a hedge fund since they probably pay the best and I may have the skills for it (math knowledge, and building on my programming skills). I'd also like to hear what kinds of jobs you think my current work experience would be applicable for.

A little background info on me. I'm going into third year studying Business Administration and Financial mathematics. I just finished an internship I did at a VC funded startup who developed AI (don't want to get into too many details). I got to collect and organize data that our product obtained. Then I would look for trends in this data and help create slide decks to present our findings to the clients (large corporations >$5B market cap). I also got to create flow charts showing how our products would work for them when starting with new clients.

So now to my question. I'd like to know if you guys know the best way to find internships for winter in Europe. They'd have to be from January to April. Is it best to look up a bunch of firms and contact them directly? Do you guys know of any places that take students for winter internships in Europe?

I appreciate your help and thanks in advance.
