Bachrach Group Recruiting
Does anyone have experience with The Bachrach Group? I know they’re a recruiting firm but how reliable/credible are they in terms of actually finding good roles for candidates currently searching in the real estate industry - specifically acquisitions, asset management, portfolio management, debt, equity, etc.?
As with all recruiting firms, it depends. It depends on who you are working with, the time that you work with them, and how well can you stay in front of them so that they think of you on every role they have that fits your criteria.
Very hit or miss. Gotta make sure the recruiter you speak with actually cares about you and will remember your name and profile when it matters.
Another garbage firm.
Basically repost company’s actual postings they already have up and pretend they have all these inside commections.
I figured.
Ditto this
VERY similar experience to what you and others had. They were trying to sell me on a position with a Blue Chip Developer while my firm at the time was downsizing and I naively bought into what they were selling. Had to hunt them down after the BS informational interview (that a Bachrach recruiter conducted, no less) and they informed that said company moved on?
Hopefully, others can learn from these cautionary examples going forward.
Just remember, all 'recruiting' firm work for and are paid by the employer... they do not work on your behalf. You may find a helpful person, but it is not their job to help you in all honesty.
That said, the 'executive recruiting' firms (like Furguson Partners, Korn Ferry, Keller Augusta, etc.) are more professional and I've had great discussions with them. At the higher level, they are more having to 'sell' people on jobs/leaving their current firm, so it makes sense. But, until you are like 5-10 years in the industry, don't expect much attention from these type of headhunters.
I've worked with them before for two positions I was applying to at the junior level. They can be aggressive in trying to sell you on positions that are downright crappy and they try to corner you when you decide the position is not for you. In the case of it being a good position, they do what every recruiter does, lead you on with the position, give you lots of BS, and then when their client doesn't like you on paper, or a better candidate moves forward, they vanish!
I spoke with one person there I think her name was Shelby from NYC office? I believe she recently left for another firm. Took about 50 emails, multiple ghosts when she gave me a time to call her, to finally get on the phone with her.
Zero help. She acted like a big shot too naming all these specific names in the industry she apparently knows. The best recruiting firms are the ones you don’t see blasting posts all over LinkedIn.
Lmao I remember her from a couple of years back. Can confirm she was a tool.
Shelby is now with Rhodes and associates. Got a good promotion too,
Have spoken with 4 different recruiters from there over 2 years and like most recruiters they were pretty awful.
Clowns.....especially the principal.
