BB vs REPE Fund

Hi there 😊

I’m trying to decide between joining a bulge bracket real estate asset management team (think JP Morgan, GS) and joining a smaller but still over $10b RE equity and debt fund. The discussions are for a VP level role.

I am not familiar with how it would be working for a large institutional employer, I understand the brand name, resources and projects could be cool but I am afraid I may be pigeonholing myself. If anyone has experience working in a place like that please add a comment about your day to day.

The salary for the VP role is similar but it’d be interesting to understand the compensation trajectory at a REPE fund to the potential trajectory at a BB workplace from a VP level to five years or so later. Thanks!
