Debt Capital Markets to Acquisitions/Development

I have spent the last 5 years of my career with in RE debt capital markets at a non-bank balance sheet lender/issuer. Promoted a few times, I have focused on the financing of our loan portfolio through securitizations (holding onto B-Piece), A-note partnerships, joint ventures and repo facilities. Have had a pretty diverse experience here also being involved in capital raising and fund management. Most of my experience though centered around structuring deals / negotiations and making sure these deals get closed (diligence, tapes, etc.) and not as much on the RE side itself. I am starting to feel that I have somewhat hit a wall, not really enjoying the work itself and not sure where my career would really end up within the company. Have started to explore other roles in RE and would love to get started on the Acquisitions / Development but not sure how to make the leap as it seems my experience is not exactly transferrable. Thoughts on best way to make this jump? My initial thoughts would be to start over and take a pay cut elsewhere.
