Goldman Asset Management Group (Previously Archon?)

Anyone have any info on Goldman's Asset Management Group in Dallas, TX? I believe that they used to be called Archon, but have officially merged completely under Goldman. Is it just AM or Acquisitions also?

They were acquired by Goldman some time ago and are now being integrated. I thought by now they would be fully Goldman, but I guess it takes awhile. My understanding of them is that they do mostly real estate. They are somehow related to GS Specialty Lending group, based out of Irving. I think alot of the Archon roles are considered back/middle office, but if you can get into an investment role, it's solid. Any internship there as a soph would be great.

Yeah I'm interviewing with their investments group. I'm not sure what that is (their website is very vague), but my first round interviewer recommended me for that group. Do they have anything close to IBD there? The GS website has Archon and their Specialty Lending Group under one section, but I wasn't sure if Archon was separate than their IBD roles in Irving. Do you know what kind of work the investment groups do? I honestly don't know much about real estate at all, and I'm not sure where online to look. And any idea what the interview process is like?

Anybody know the prestige of Archon Group relative to the Real Estate arms of firms?

They have a prestige level rating of 9 out of 15. That is if you're using the U.S. Standardized Prestige Rating Scale. I believe they leveled up from a rating of 8 following the consolidation.

Do they even have IB presence in Dallas anymore? A few years ago they had a couple of guys in the crescent but I think now it's all pwm and slg(in Irving)...Archon also if you count that as GS.

Judging from their career page, all they have is the PWM and SLG like you said. I have a couple friends who work for SLG. Just trying to find some people from their main office
