Good questions to ask during interviews
One of the biggest things I've seen how far good questions go during an interview. I have some upcoming interviews in Brokerage, Develpment and REPE and was hoping to get some help on some good questions.
I've added a few below and would appreciate any others! Looking for Developer questions too.
Brokerage:
How does your team differentiate itself from others? What is your deal volume? -How much does your team underwrite and how much does it close? What does a career path look like for someone starting at this position? How much room for growth is there on your team? (some are top heavy and admitted this to me) Typical timeline for analyst > producer ? Plans for your team? Growth? Other markets? What do you like about your market and where do you see its future?
Principal:
What is your typical fund structure? -markets -asset class -risk profile -hold period -return goals What's the breakdown of your sources of capital and the proportions? (HNW, institutional)
Personal:
How did you get into real estate? What do you like about it? How has your role changed over time? What advice would you give someone in my shoes? What is your ideal candidate? Where do you think we are in the market? (get this a lot so I ask it now) Biggest challenges if they had a transition?
