Is this really what an analyst does?

I am a bit beyond half a year into my analyst job (asset management and acquisitions analyst for a small shop). The first 3 or 4 months, I did a good amount of modeling and some administrative stuff. The last 3 or 4 months have been almost exclusively data entry for year end and 2018 budgeting. It has felt incredibly mindless and I feel like I have almost no interaction with others, am learning nothing, and have no room for creativity. There is no challenge or critical thinking.

Is this how most analyst jobs are? How much of your time is spent doing administrative work? They ask me to input budgets, compare budgets and actuals, scan, print, and organize their stuff. I don't think I have had to model or underwrite in about 2.5 months even once. Is this what all analyst do or has my job been described as analyst position when really it is just administrative?

Thanks guys!
