Acquisitions

EDIT: Ok guilty I only skimmed your post and didn't read the rotations. Realistically, AM or strategy is probably best, capital transactions could be helpful too but given the way equity is funded its less transferable. I'd lean towards AM since its the closest to the assets and a tried and true transferrable skill set, but if the strategy team is strong (I assume its focused on market research and overall organizational strategy i.e. should we pivot our portfolio weighting from office to industrial, by how much and why) then that could be interesting to talk about in interviews as well.

Well what in REPE do you want to do? Can you stay at the reit? Is this a rotational? If so, that’s awesome experience. And you may think you want acquisitions now but find you hate the lifestyle. So what are your interests?

Also, don’t be so set on ‘REPE’. A reit is really the same thing. The only difference is how the firm gets its funding (public markets vs private capital raise). You can do well at both types of companies and you may find you love the REIT or would prefer to stay on post your program as opposed to jumping ship.
