Recruitment Advice
Graduated in this past May at a non target with an internship my junior year at a large developer and I’m struggling to find a full time job opportunity. Interviewed for multiple companies, gone through 6 rounds for some of them them plus case studies just to be told we went with someone with more experience. I’m really at wits end on what I can do better moving forward. It’s honestly been really tiring and i dont know what else I can do. I’ve already tapped into my mentor and connection network but haven’t been able to get much help from them. Would love to hear some advice from the WSO community.

What city are you looking in/ what roles are you targeting? I experienced a similar situation after graduating target but with no real estate internship experience. It's incredibly demoralizing but just try to remember not to take it personally. I'd take a look at selectleaders, I've found the most success applying there vs. linkedin and other career sites.
I’m targeting any major city and for roles, ideally something in development, acquisitions, capital markets or investment sales. I’ve never used selectleaders before but I’ll try it out. The issue is I’m getting multiple superdays but have ultimately gotten beaten out by a candidate with more experience which really sucks…
You probably already know this, but make sure you have a separate story for why development, why acquisitions, why investment sales, etc. so that when interviewing you don't reveal that you're applying to all the categories (the only reason i bring this up is because I just had a networking call with a new grad, and he said he was targeting everything just to see what sticks - bad answer). The biggest thing that helped me was getting certified in Argus, if you don't have a ton of Argus experience already. It's pricey, like $1500, but that will give you a significant leg up in terms of increasing your "experience". I was able to break directly into acquisitions by doing that and a few other RE modeling courses.
Gotcha, I appreciate the advice!
