Have a good friend there. He is awesome guy. Nice to have him as a friend. A college buddy of mine did a summer with them I think. He said it would be a dream employer for him but I think he has since moved to other places

what kind of complaints?
Part of the NYC elite. Very successful track record and work with all the top notch LPs (e.g., Oaktree, Nuveen, Square Mile, Cerberus, Ares, SMAs with big pensions, etc.), manage their own PE funds. Dream employer on the development or acquisitions side, imo (think you work on both but not sure). Kind of place that runs super lean, you would touch everything, and get paid above market for long hours.
Have also heard it is a top/destination employer for a buddy of mine in the acquisitions space
Heard the MDs/Hiring Managers give mental math brain teasers to all potential junior acquisitions pros. Gives you a sense of the culture.
I feel like a RE firm that people refer to as a “dream destination” is by virtue no longer a dream destination
Low key firms are a much more enjoyable work experience and often times these are the type of funds that kill it but they don’t go around bragging about it to anyone but their LPs

Disagree with this mainly for NYC firms. The BX and top dog large institutional shops with IB hours aside, private shops in NYC tend to have just as rough cultures compared to larger shops.
