Most firms won’t provide feedback for legal reasons. The industry is in the tough spot - many firms are doing workouts and restructures so they aren’t growing. It’s a hard recruiting environment for college grads (and everyone in general). Don’t get discouraged - just keep interviewing. The last job I got in 2021 I had to interview with 21 different companies to land a role. I went through countless final rounds. This is just how recruiting works. Keep pushing.

Just gotta keep pushing all it takes is one, that said I feel you.

I am trying to transition out of my current role into a role that is more aligned with my career vision; I've worked with Top Tier REITs and Major Players on their Capital Projects.

Yet I have been struggling to land interviews, that said I am horrible at networking so thats probably a major issue.

Overall, keep pushing something will give.

I'm in the same boat. At a target school, have top buy-side internships, and still unable to land a FT role after 7-8 rounds of interviews for a few firms. Most likely a fit issue, given all these teams seem to hire from the same demographic every single time.

Sometimes I wonder for certain firms why they give out interviews if they only hire certain kids. Seems like false hope for some places.

Companies are legitimately broken if they think it takes 7-8 interviews to hire anyone, let alone an analyst or associate.

Shit, any interview above 2 is unnecessary.

Before you get too discouraged, or discouraged for the wrong reasons, it's worth noting that many real estate firms simply don't hire out of undergrad, which it sounds like you're still attending.  All the macro headwinds aside, the truth is that even if firms were busy creating lots of new roles, very few of them are gonna be geared towards someone in their early 20s.

Also, "target school" isn't really a thing for real estate, certainly not for an undergrad degree.  Certain schools have pretty good alumni networks, usually local, but that's about it.

I am having the same problem. Ok GPA at a good school with a top brokerage and strong REPE internship. I was fortunate to get interviews during the fall at some banks and smaller PE firms but have ultimately been left with nothing. The few comments I received basically said I was well qualified but they found someone who "was a little bit better of a fit for the team." Would love to understand where I can improve and where I can find new opportunities going forward. It seems that all of the entry level roles have disappeared.

Same boat.

I think even structured off-cycle programs are now cooked. The only path to employment is to get abstract.
