Appropriate to include on Resume?

Would the following line be appropriate to include on a resume to indicate an interest in finance and showcase that you keep up with the business press?

Avid reader of The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, DealBook, and Financial Times

Or will people reviewing resumes laugh at this?

Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't put "Avid reader..." but under interests / other you could put one or two publications.

Also, keep in mind these are people who likely read all these publications as well... so if they say "oh you read the economist, did you see that piece on rent/property value ratio's 2 weeks ago, and you have no clue what they're talking about or even if you do but don't have anything intelligent to say about it, its gonna cost you.

I don't review resumes, but if I did, I would look down upon someone who listed those publications as an interest. At this point, I feel like people expect you to be reading them anyways. Anyways, the interests section is best used to make you stand out from other applicants - list the exciting / unusual things that you like to do in your free time.
