Changing the name of my courses for my resume

My university has some pretty obscure nomenclatures. For instance my Linear Algebra class is called methods in operational research. Econometrics is called Research Methods 3 (pretty misleading since I had research methods 1&2 which were really just about how to conduct academic research.). Probability and inferential statistics are named respectively Stats 1 and Stats 2. Is it acceptable to change the name of these courses to capture what the classes are really about? Otherwise would you recommend I include these names as they are or avoid them altogether?

Thanks!
