ER resume take two

So that other thread was pretty eye opening... I used the M&I template and put this one together. There's a few things I'm not sure about. I found a job posting that expires today, so I want to convey that in one week I'm 99% sure that I'll be a level 2 CFA candidate, so that part might be worded a little funny at the bottom. Also on the education line, is there too much crowded in there? Major, minor, certificate. Interests I just threw those things in there but if it would be better to take them out I will. And the summer student term is pretty much the exact same role as my current one but with less responsibility, so I kept that description fairly short.

So, critique take 2. Hopefully a little better this time! And like I said, the other posting ends today so a little feedback sooner would be ideal as I'll send it out regardless around 3p (in 2 hours)

This part is from my old thread:
So here it is. My goal is equity research associate on upstream oil, preferably services. I'm open to all sorts of constructive criticism, so here's some notes:

- 2 years field experience in oilfield services
- 6 months business analyst experience for same company after undergrad plus 4 months as their summer student (10 months)
- Meh grades, would rather not have them on the resume
- Love markets/finance, strong desire to be a "master" of a sector
- This is a preliminary resume... I won't actually know if I passed L1 until the 22nd (no violation if it's a working copy...lol)

I've seen a lot of resumes that are packed full of words and I personally feel as though people don't like that - but I really don't know. So this one is pretty minimalist.

I guess my selling point would be my industry experience on both the field and business side of fracking/pressure pumping services. My job is so open ended which makes it very hard to sum up. Literally any manager in the company can come to us if they find that we're losing money, margins are shrinking, would this project be profitable, etc, and we'll work it out. Lots of ad hoc analyses which I think would be a huge plus for ER.

So yeah, critique away! And be gentle...haha.

Not one quantified bullet on your entire resume. Format is much better.

Numbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you saying I should list out numerically under the job description/project experience? I just copied right out of the template so not entirely sure what you mean otherwise.

Also wondering about cover letters, are they typically included in the PDF when emailed out, or make up the body of the email itself?

I'm no expert and know little about ER, so I will point out the grammatical inconsistencies I noticed:

-For relevant coursework, why isn't the entire course capitalized? Aren't these course titles (i.e., proper nouns)? -I really feel like your entire second section could be reworked. I don't think "learning how to work as a team" is an accomplishment that belongs on a resume. -Your date formatting is inconsistent. For some, you have months and for others you don't. Also, your dashes are different sizes. Pick one date format (and dash size) and stick to it. -Be more specific with your interests. Do you like playing piano or listening to it? What types of piano music? Also, I bet everyone puts "markets" on their resumes. Can you differentiate yourself somehow?

Hope that helps.

kingfalconAlso, by "numbers," he is instructing you to quantify your achievements somehow (i.e., Reduced X by Y%, Increase profitability by Z%, Led project that resulted in RIF of A%).

Yes this is what I meant.
