GPA dramatic increase after serving the army

Hello, my gpa was terrible... 3.2 by sophomore year. But after serving the army I got some great life lesson and started working hard and achieved 3.85 junior gpa. And I would like share this life story with the interviewers and tell them that I am now a different person. But still, my gpa is not enough. How can I increase the chance of getting interviews/jobs?

p.s. I go to a target school.

Did you take an extended break from school to complete military service? Your post makes it sound like you just took a summer off to join military and then resumed college. I'm former Navy and obviously you need to incorporate military experience into your story (attention to details, maturity, leadership, travel, specific responsibilities, etc etc etc) and how you applied what you learned from military to your civilian life. Also, use your schools career services to help with resume/interviewing/networking.

Why did you post this twice? You also need some perspective if you think 3.2 is a "horrible" GPA. Your post makes it sound like you went from being a crack addict to being a Rhodes scholar because of the military experience. I wouldn't take you seriously if you tried to pitch me on this "transformational life lesson" story. You don't want to sound like you have an inferiority complex about something that doesn't matter / isn't that bad. Focus on your positives (leadership, etc.) and go from there.
