Have at it guys I have thick skin

Resume is from a non-target school. I went to a state school no one would know outside of my state. Working at a bank > $1 bill total assets. Looking for an analyst role with the opportunity to move to sales and trading. Particular interest is in energy.

Thanks.

Start by centering your name.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

3.5 from LSU? nahhhhh.... you're not getting into banking anytime soon. Do you have any internships or anything else besides commercial banking? I'd put that down if you do. But holy crap you dug yourself in deep by only pulling a 3.5 at LSU. I know kids with 3.8s from LSU and CFA L III candidates who can't even break into IB. Your best shot as getting an MBA.

Thanks for the resume template link. I will look into that.

@Futurebanker09 - I agree I probably am not a top contender for I-Banking at the moment. Personally, I don't think a .3 increase in my GPA would make much of a difference. I know when I interview candidates, I tend to place much more emphasis on the person and their performance in the interview / fit with the company than a few extra points higher GPA. I do plan on looking into a master's degree after I finish level 2, but leaning more towards MS finance rather than MBA. I don't have any internships, but I would think pushing 3 years experience would trump any internships at this point. Don't you think?

I do appreciate your comments thus far. Thanks.

This looked like my resume Freshmen year...

"What do you mean, you're gonna pass. Alan, the only people making money passing are NFL quarterbacks and I don't see a number on your back. "

Wording of sections needs to be consistent.

In work experience you have: Instruct, Monitor, Provide, Perform and Assist, which are all consistant, but than you also have "analyzed" which is not.

In skills you have: Advanced, Advanced and Currently, which is inconsistent

and in Interests: you have: two action items (Golfing, reading) and a description (Avid sports fan).

I would not put that you have advanced financial modeling skills – even if its true, it is not believable. Also, reading is a lame interest, at least put what type of reading you are interested in – literature (what type), non fiction (history, science, etc.).

wayyy too much white space. format is terrible

"Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way. In twenty years, if you're still livin' here, comin' over to my house to watch the Patriots games, still workin' construction, I'll fuckin' kill you. That's not a threat, that's a fact.
