Non-Target junior (small, top 50 liberal arts school) looking to get into ER or investment management at a BB or equity research firm in NYC this summer.

Just my 2 cents' worth:

Your relevant course work list is very long and some of them e.g. Sociology don't seem relevant.

Your Experience section should focus on what you contributed so I'm not sure how relevant "Gained extensive knowledge of municipal bond official statements and regulatory filings" is. Maybe you could rephrase that in terms of your contributions.

 

I'd scrap the "relevant coursework" section altogether.

There are 300,000 other kids who took the same classes, and it's a waste of space.

-Write out the full year, ie: 2012 not '12 and spell out "Present" instead of "Pres" -GPA should read 3.20 / 4.00 or whatever it rounds up to for two decimal places -Delete every period you have in your resume -I'd use the standard bullet points instead of those arrows -For interests, I would just write "Investing, Traveling, Scuba Diving, College Football (D2/3 Quarterback)"...no sentences -Italicize the dates -Italicize and unbold the position titles -EVERYTHING should be left aligned, including the bullets -Try to quantify the bullet points a bit more -A "LEADERSHIP & ACTIVITIES" label should separate the work experience and extra curricular/fraternity positions

Do all these changes, and if you want, PM me the revised copy and I can go over it again for you. Overall, it's pretty solid.

Anyone else? Was I able to use my previous work experience in data analytics and muni bond analysis to show quantitative ability for ER? How are my Finance Team and Investment Group sections?
