Non-Target SA Resume, Please Help
I've been working on this for a while and now after finals are through I finally finished. Let me know what you guys think. I go to a complete non-target and am going to be applying to all BB and boutiques I can find. Any edits you have I greatly appreciate. Also, let me know your opinion on if I will be competitive coming from a non-target or not.

Thanks guys!
"Sat with" isn't the best power verb. A couple of your bullets just restate your title basically. You have to think of it as precious space. Not terrible though. Maybe more about the impact of what you did. For example, you did research on stocks, bonds, mutual funds. Did any of the clients end up investing in these?
remove risk mgt GPA
NYC non-target with risk management program... St. John's?
Temple...what makes you think he's from NYC?
His name is PHILLYmonkey and his profile says Temple.
To me your resume does not stand out, and does not guarantee you interviews at BB banks. Your resume is decent, and you will get interviews, but don't expect a very high response rate, reason being (experience is not sufficient to be considered a top candidate-no Fortune 500 Company, no IB experience, and no indication that you are a genius).. i would say probably 77-92 candidates out of 100 are in worse condition than you.. so you know where you stand.. what are you going to do to better your chances?
Have you been networking with alum? I know people make it into IB from Temple. I think some banks even recruit there (I could be wrong). But having alum go to bat for you could pay off extremely.
Thanks for the recommendations so far. I will definitely reword some of my bullets to make them less repetitive.
Yes, I do go to Temple. Definitely not a target for Finance but does have a highly ranked Risk Management program.
Check out PNC...my coworker's college roommate/best friend is an analyst there and said they have a few guys from Temple.
@wikileaks Thank you for your response. So far, I have been trying to reach out to alums from my school to form relations with them. I've been utilizing LinkedIn a good amount and searching through to find connections through there. Other than that, over this winter break I plan on getting Bloomberg and CapitalIQ certified through my school's Capital Markets Room. Anything else you can suggest to help me better stand out?
@professionalmonkey The only major banks that recruit at Temple are JPM and Citi and from what I've seen its purely operations positions. Like I said, I'm trying to network with alums at this point.
Edit: PNC also does recruit here as well and I have applied through my career services site but won't hear back until Spring.
Reword your interest in investing into something that stands out more--what type of investing? equities, commodities, derivatives, etc...
I'd also get rid of your interests in technology and books about investment banking...both sound stupid and generic imo
I would take out the relevant coursework section. All of those classes are assumed for someone majoring in Finance. I would take out the finance-related stuff from your interests section as well. My take on that section is that it's supposed to show what you are interested in outside of finance/IB, or, as the above poster said, at least make it more specific to an actual product or style of investing.
Fix the grammar on bullet one under experience week: "in which was able"
I know IB seems like the "be-all, end-all" route, but you may want to consider F500 finance roles, corporate banking, and even asset management.
How to better yourself? Just umm.. make sure you know what's happening in the macro news..
