Should I say Morgan Stanley Smith Barney or Morgan Stanley

This is a silly question. But, it is worth asking I guess.

I worked as an intern for what WAS Smith Barney (in a small, wealthy community, for an institutional and high-net worth clients). Within the first couple months they were bought by Morgan Stanley.

I am currently putting "Morgan Stanley" on my resume. I feel like Morgan Stanley attracts the eye more than Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. However, I'm concerned that some potential employers will think I'm full of s*** when they see that it is not located in NYC, Chicago, etc.. Primarily because many people think of Morgan Stanley for their investment banking, brokerage, and trading services, rather than their PWM.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

You put the name of the firm you worked for, not one of parties involved in the venture funding the firm you work for or whoever has the majority stake if it's a joint venture or a buyout. The firm is Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Put it on your resume as such. If you get passed a screen with that lie on your resume, it can and will come back to bite you on the ass.

True. Although their sign says "Morgan Stanley", I should probably go with the more accurate MSSB. Thanks

Seriously Frieds, 'passed?' Are you really tired or something?

If the glove don't fit, you must acquit!
