Single digit numbers on resume?
Do you guys write single digit numbers as words or numbers? I've written them as numbers in order to conserve space, but I guess it's more correct to write them as words.
What do you guys suggest? Thanks.

I don't think it matters much as long as you are consistent throughout your whole resume. Personally, I think writing them as numbers looks better.
Yeah I always went by just writing them out. I'm not sure what the rule is exactly...
numbers draw the eyes to your accomplishments. People generally just skip the words
It matters if you mean 1 (one) or $1 million / one million dollars. If it's a dollar number, I think that it's better to have the number. If its the other, saying I was looking for 1 dog...doesn't look good IMHO.
i remember the rule is, if it's between 1-10, you write it out. Anything higher, you can write out the amount numerically.
Rules for proper writing are different than for writing a resume since a resume serves a different purpose.
Like cries said, using the actual number regardless of size makes it jump out to the eye and highlights that accomplishment.
"Finished 3rd out of 500 competitors" is stands out more versus "Finished third out of five hundred competitors".
Not sure what the rule is, but I agree that writing the number stands out a little more and can attract peoples eyes to something meaningful
Thanks guys...I do know the grammar rule and i do know that "one dog" is better than "1 dog", generally. However, what about: Evaluated 6 companies or advised 9 clients...in this case it's not as apparent but it does save precious space on the resume when in number, so do you think that not being grammatically correct in this case makes you look bad to the interviewer?
