Dare I ?.... 22 You tell me.

WSO,

To all who are reading this, I plan on trying to pursue an MBA in F. I just graduated with my BA in PSY In May. I plan on applying for the Fall 2015 Semester.
What am I thinking?

I know what you all are thinking, Do I have work experience? I have held various Full-Time positions throughout 4 years, and I believe I gained solid work experience. All while attending college, Stemming from Retail, Sales, Foreman, and a solid Marketing internship. Each Full-Time Position was held for a year, I had 4 Full-Time Jobs each with a different company (4) Company’s Total. (Worked OT on Weekends, and worked 3-10 4 days a week.) So it was Full Time. I am including my resume, please let me know what you think.

Should I?

My main question is, do ADCOMs value work while in school? (Note: These were not fully joke jobs, not for major corporate companies, but pretty decent.) Or do they want to see work experience after graduating.

Main thoughts

I would like to apply to B-SCHOOL with my previous work experience, (4 Years) will it be possible to get into a good B-SCHOOL. Or does anybody recommend applying to MBA programs specially targeted for recent graduates. Are those programs worth it? I’ve heard many times, you must apply to a prestigious b-school in order to get a decent starting salary.

Thanks.

Nope. Get a job doing something entry level for at least 2 years...and then go.

You could maybe get into tier n program in the 50-150 ranked range depending on grades and scores. However, I would not recommend doing so. You only get a chance to do one MBA. If you think you have a shot down the line at a good one, go for that when it's time. For now, just go get some actual work experience since you currently have none. Despite your high regard for your "full-time" after school jobs, adcoms will NOT view them as real work experience. They do not contribute to your progression in any meaningful way and sound like far less than what many candidates at top schools do during undergrad internships at big name companies before then going on to work for 3-6 yrs in actual careers. Lastly, WHY do you want to get an MBA? This is important and you'll need to think it through as it will be important throughout the MBA research/application process.

IMO, the biggest problem with going to school without "real" post-undergrad work experience is that you will have an incredibly difficult time securing a job during your MBA. Think about it: you'll be competing for jobs with people in your class that have on average 5 years of work experience. Adcoms know this and care deeply about job placement. This is the reason they weight work experience so heavily.
