Would add that Ox is growing its focused on PE with some fairly impressive guess lectures from the industry.

I got in to one of the Masters programs in Said/Judge, now waiting for the scholarship decision, fingers crossed.
Ummm, great. Cheers for that info.

I am graduating from a business school (MSc in IT) in US and intend to stay in Europe/Asia long term, so doing a short masters (8 month) in Technology policy,a field I am highly interested in,sounds reasonable.I am 30 and not interested in working 100+ hours on entry level IB or MC positions, and generally I don't value mba that much, especially in connection with my career goals and that I will not live in USA.
I think Oxbridge in any case offers highest quality education, with job prospects in various fields.Target universities, tight knit community, very strong brand name and network, tuition and overall expenses are low - what else would you expect from a program?
Can someone please share their experiences with Work Visas for the UK/EU? It seems as if the UK has taken drastic measures over the past 2 years to clamp down on immigration. This entire thread is pointless for Americans if they aren't able to get a work permit post-mba.
From what I heard, getting work visas is really dependent on the person (as stated above). The work Visa is an issue for anybody studying abroad (whether it's an American studying in EU or an European studying in the U.S.) and a risk that international students have to consider. Maybe you could start a new thread asking people for their experiences? This topic basically would apply to every b-school thread and a lot of people would probably be interested. Sorry if my post wasn't helpful to you.
It was actually quite informative, but judging from personal experience I think the biggest hang up with the UK programs is the Visa risk. I am in the process of creating a short list of MBA schools to apply to. I would love to eventually live and work and London, but it is tough to build a case for rolling the dice on UK's immigration policy. Considering that this forum seems to be mostly a american-based community, I think this is the first topic that needs to be addressed in order to get people excited about Oxbridge.
great article. I've been accepted to oxford as well as other top 15 US programs and am looking to switch into IB. From the comments above it seems like it is hard if not impossible to get a BB job out of oxford. Is this because the banks do not recruit for IB positions at Oxford? I'm American, do they recruit for BBIB jobs in Asia? (hk or singapore)? Thanks!
