Do 3 Cs on your transcript ruin your life?

Hey guys... so basically the title is the thing I'm worried about.
Background: international, west coast top 40 non target UC. Math and Quantitative Economics (Econometrics) double major. CGPA 3.45
4 leadership positions (1 held for two years, 1 co-founder & president). 3 internships (1 consulting firm, 2 NYC, all boutiques/small firms, not big ones).
GRE: not taken yet. Aiming for 330+, at least 325+.

Problem: 1 C in a computer science in my freshman year 2nd quarter, 1 C+ and 1C in two math classes (stochastic methods and abstract analysis). I can argue for the stochastic methods class here because during that quarter I was taking two classes with very similar topics. Got an A in another one and a C in this one.

Note: In Econ classes, we don't need too advanced math skills, basically simple calculus.

Targeting: MSF/MSM programs, and MA/MS Economics programs. My Econ grades are good and probably some of my letters will come from Econ professors.

Am I screwed? Can I get into top programs/top schools? What do I do to boost my chances?

Thanks a lot.

Fine - since you (OP) gave me monkey shit - i'll bite and not troll.

3 CS WILL NOT MATTER AT ALL.

  1. Most firms will not ask for your transcript
  2. Of the the firms that do, nobody is going to look at it
  3. If they do look at it, they'll probably see "oh well this kid excelled in all other areas"
  4. If they continue to look at it and bring it up during an interview, hooray, you have a chance to 'explain yourself / tell your story' .....honestly don't make it nearly as detailed your initial post, nobody cares

To boost your chances - focus on your social skills (not trolling).

Thanks for the insight man. Actually I posted this in the Business School forum to ask about the MSF/Econ programs, since I need another recruiting season after I'm in grad school... But this is really helpful and thanks again
