Does college major/field ranking matter at all for consulting? How does division placement work?

Currently a freshman at a state school interested in breaking into supply chain consulting and looking to get started planning and networking ASAP. My question is regarding whether the ranking of the school I attend being higher in my specific major/field of study a factor that will be looked at when applying. The school I attend is consistently ranked top 5 for supply chain (my major) but is definitely not considered a target for consulting, IB, etc.

Will this ranking have any bearing on me being considered for a supply chain role or should I just consider it a complete non-target?

Are there even applications for certain types of consulting or do you just apply generally as a management consultant and get assigned to divisions later? Would appreciate any insight into the application process in the context of different divisions/roles.

Thanks in advance!
