I've seen one or two discussions on this topic but I think each situation is a bit nuanced, so I'd appreciate any feedback.
I am considering whether to continue with pursuing a second major, realizing that it will likely negatively impact my GPA. My options are a single major with one or two minors and a ~3.95 GPA or two majors with a ~3.85-3.90 GPA. I realize that this difference is pretty marginal, but I go to a total non-target, so my I would expect my GPA to play a fairly significant role in my possible business school applications. I am not set on moving to the buy-side or going to b-school, but I think it's important to keep that option open.
For context, I have an IB internship lined up at a top tier bank with a high return offer rate, so I'm fairly confident I will have a great FT role after graduation.

From an MBA admissions perspective the difference between a ~3.95 GPA and at ~3.85 GPA is non-existent. The value of a second major as opposed to one or two minors is also pretty insignificant, depending on what the minors or majors are. The substance would be more important than the quantity. The reasons for them (other than the grade calculation) may also be interesting, even if it isn't significant.
I came from a non-target undergrad as well, and am matriculating at an M7 school in the fall. From my experience, the admissions process is a lot more than these single data points. Since you're likely going into IB post-grad, you won't have the capacity to take on extracurriculars then. I'd make that more of a focus than a small change in GPA. I would venture to guess that the 1 major, 2 minor route would allow more time for that. During both my interviews at M7 schools (was accepted to both) I talked at length about my volunteer experience and work experience and not at all about my undergraduate courses or major.
FWIW. For recruiting, my E&F holds GPA in much higher regard compared to major/double major, minor etc.
Completely depends on what the second major would be. If it's CS, definitely do it. Also, the difference between a 3.95 and a 3.85 is insignificant.
Higher GPA will be more important than a double major. A double major adds unneeded stress. Focus on whatever you will get the better GPA in.
Easy - Higher GPA. Most buy-side shops and business schools screen for GPA, prior experience, and strength of school. Unless your first major is something completely unrelated to finance (or perceived as useless) there is no need to take on a second major.
