Durham Finance vs York economics
Im applying to LSE (Philosophy and Economics) but feel like I have a high chance I'm not getting in. I was wondering if the finance course in Durham would be better than the economics course in York. Im predicted an AAA/AAB does anyone have any recommendations or courses that would be even better that I can probably get into?
Do you think finance courses are still good for investment banking?
Durham always by a mile
If you do not do Econ/PPE/NatSci/Maths/Sciences at Durham I would strongly recommend picking a politics/history type course over Finance. Durham clears York by a long mile for placement into IBD.
How about economics at Exeter as the entry requirements are lower?
Durham > Exeter. Do not know much about the finance scene or culture there but generally more Durham people are landing offers (especially in recent years)

I have met a metric sh**ton of people with various Durham degrees and only three York folks (all of them boarding school types with connections). I am sure it is still possible coming from York, but it will be easier from Durham
