Engineer + MBA?

A ton of people I know in finance regret going into the industry, so I'm not interested in entirely changing my career. I do, however, feel that I should move up to some form of management. I believe an MBA from a top 10 school could help me achieve this. I think it's a good idea combining technical/quantitative skills with business/management skills. A little background info about me:

- 25 years old, so it's the perfect time for an MBA
- Software Engineer at small tech company (would like to move to a different, bigger company)

So what are some opportunities for me? What specific form of management could I do? What would suit me? Recommendations/advice would be great.

Thank you.

You'll have a stiff competition from engineers at larger tech companies (google, yahoo...). Unless you've done something outstanding it'll be a long shot getting into the top 10. There are alot of general management/product management roles at tech companies for MBAs.
