erasmus rotterdam vs bocconi for bachelors

Hi, does anybody have experience with these schools?  I would rather attend Bocconi because of cultural fit; even though I don't speak Italian, I live in an eastern EU country close to Italy. Still, I would not want to cause financial distress to my parents. Given that I would like to get SA @ BB during my bachelor's degree, is Bocconi better? In addition, I also want to do my master's in the UK at LSE, LBS, or Oxford. Is it worth the splurge?

P.S BTW, I am looking at ESE Bsc Econometrics not RSM IBA.

Hi, both have really good bachelor degrees. RSM is more of a management bachelor whereas Bocconi is more economics and finance related. Both are really good and give you access to the same masters, considering you have good grades and a decent GMAT score (if you are aiming for the best programs). Let me know, if you have any specific questions, happy to help :)

Guy above me is spot on, I know from personal experience that the RSM IBA programme has a very large portion of its students geared towards consulting / corporate strategy / Big Tech due to the strong existing CEMS relationships and management programme legacy. I definitely see more Bocconi BAs doing SA stints in London, though I can basically guarantee you that this mostly down to self-selection.

Both are, imo, in the top 5 continental business undergrad programmes on the continent (the others being HSG, SSE, and maybe one of WHU, ESADE and CBS)

Bocconi definitely places well in London at all top firms. RSM still a great choice, but for IB I would go with Bocconi.

Hey, to give you my top 5 bachelor is business in Europe. HSG, RSM, Bocconi, LSE and Warwick. Hard to tell the order of these programs but just to say that they are really good. All the best!

Mate, I am currently studying econometrics at another university in the netherlands but the EBE program places really well. I have spoken to multiple people that did their bsc econometrics at EBE and they all placed well at Dutch PE-shops, quant/trading roles, SA IBD, and math/finance related masters. That is, if you can handle the first year of the program. Just PM me if you want to know more about studying econometrics because all the programs in The Netherlands are similar

Hi,

First of all, you should choose a program where you will excel and not what your parents want. If you are good at math, you are more likely to excel in econometrics. I heard of a handful of people going to Oxbridge from econometrics or do a Master in finance at Bocconi and they usually had an extremely high GPA. The campus of the uni has lots of extracurriculars and large banks recruit (mainly for M&A). Actually, a master in econometrics is very good for placement.

Bocconi has more brand recognition and every time I had an assessment centre there were Bocconi people.

What did you do in the end? I am in a similar situation, where I have to choose between Erasmus, Bocconi, IE, and HSG, and dk what to do. (also pursuing IB --> PE, also want to get a SA at a BB during the degree, and also want to do my masters in a target uk uni)

I go to the one mentioned in your list, but now I regret that I did not go to IE
