Evaluate my profile please - MBA programs

Hi WSO,

I'm looking to apply for business school and wanted to get everyone's thoughts on my profile.

32yr old male
Undergrad GPA: 3.5 in Economics from Asia (Korea)
Grad GPA: 3.8 GPA in Economics (eg Yale, Duke, Stanford)
GRE: 322 (will retake)
Work Experience: 6 years in real estate acquisitions (multiple promotions)
CFA Level 1
Strong Volunteering Experience

I'm looking to apply to the Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Booth, Columbia, Kellogg, NYU, Yale SOM

I have also served military service (in Korea) which explains my relatively higher age

What are my chances for the above schools? Thanks!

Strong profile, your age is obviously going to stand out. Some b-schools prefer younger applicants, just be sure your targets are varied enough that you don't box yourself out.

GRE score is also a variable and would also pay attention to breakdown. For example if you ace quant and don't do well in verbal, would be a red flag.

Other than the GRE, would pay attention to your essays. Essays need to show a single unified story of your past career, b-school and your future career. Esp how your 'grew' in your pre-MBA roles and how the b-school is going to get you to your future career.

Best of luck.

Many thanks, Telemachus!

As you have mentioned, my score is more skewed towards quant (166+), and weaker in verbal (with a AWA score of 6.0/6.0). I will definitely focus on the GRE verbal, increasing selection of schools and also on the cohesion of MBA story and professional growth - eg past career, b-school and future career. Thank you!
