How to break into IB after a MSF/MiF in the U.S/UK ?

Hello guys !

I am french ug student looking for masters in finance degree to break into IB, i would like to work there 3-5 years max.
In France, usually we do 6-months internship at the end of our studies and then convert it to full-time.

And in the Anglo-speaking world, I understand that you need to do a summer during undegrad then try to convert it. But, how all the people in MSF program (LSE,MIT,Princeton,Imperial etc...) actually go into IB given that its too late for the summer internships ? Can you realistically do your MiF then apply full-time directly and get accepted ?

Bc looking at employment report they all go into IB but i don't think that they do a summer ? I don't understand am I missing another program ? Im a bit lost tbh

If you guys know what can you do to break into IB without a summer after a msf it would be great !!!

For context I’m in my final year and going into one of the masters programs. I have an upcoming summer internship in between the end of my undergrad and the start of my masters programme and as such that is how I can do it. I know of others who apply to summers in their masters year and do an extra ‘term’ in sept - dec of the following year to qualify

Oh okay thanks ! I didn’t know that you could get this extra-term. And okay, I will apply for between bachelor and masters.

But thats the only option ? Applying for off-cycle and/or graduate programs isn’t interesting ?

UK programs being 1-year, you usually do summer internship after the program. Some programs let you artificially extend the date till the following year for some recruiting reasons, such as LBS which is mentioned above, but this isn't necessary imo all places know the position masters students are in (either way the career centre of the school tells you what to do). You then hope to get the return after the summer, and/or do OC in the fall/winter until your class is hired.

2year eu programs, you do the summer, hope for the offer, if not usually recruiting towards FT at the end of 2nd year if you are on the continent.

USA 1yr programs you are going for full time after graduating.
Hope this kinda helps?
