Imperial Msc Finance & Accounting or HEC MiM
Hi All,
I am currently sitting on an offer from Imperial for their MSc Finance and Accounting program and have my interview for HEC MiM next week. In the best case scenario, I have to choose between both programmes. I am an international from Latin America (I speak fluent Spanish) with UK citizenship and aim to work in London IB.
I know the Imperial programme is OK in London, considering it is not the flagship MSc Finance, but it is still good for Imperial brand name. On the other hand, HEC MiM is excellent in europe + 2/3 years to build CV but not the MiF.
Since I have the right to work in the UK, would HEC MiM be better? I heard Imperial MSc F&A is second tier compared to other London targets.
Context - I went to Russell Group Uni for undergrad and worked for 1 year at a London trading house as an investment analyst (focused on O&G + infra M&A), currently doing a VC internship and am edging close to landing a PE/GE at a small firm in London for this summer - have been wanting to get some technology investment experience.
Any advice is welcome.

Recommendation:
If your primary focus is breaking into London IB, Imperial MSc Finance & Accounting might be the better choice due to its local relevance and shorter duration. However, if you value the flexibility to build your CV further and are open to exploring opportunities across Europe, HEC MiM could be a strong alternative.

Can you expand? - Specific to London recruiting
Yes HEC has a way better reputation. Imperial is not really a business school and does not have the networks or alumni :)
How are people affording these masters? I have an offer from Imperial too but I'd have to take out a 70k loan...
Yeah man, its crazy expensive :( will have to go into debt
Good to hear you're in the same boat. I'm still trying to figure out if its worth the cost
70k is crazy. The fees are about £45k. You don’t need 25k to live for a year as a student
Mate the APR on those private student loans is like 10%
