Is it worth transfering from Target to Ivy?
Hey people, I am a current freshman at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, and I was considering transferring to Ivy leagues to give me a boost in IB recruitment, or to a smaller target such as Duke where there will be less competition.
Transfer season is coming up so I am contemplating whether it's worth writing transfer apps for Ivy leagues. I don't know how much advantage being at Ivy league tier schools will give me in regards to IB recruitment. Also, since recruiting is happening earlier and earlier, I don't know if transferring will put me at a disadvantage in the new school.
My current GPA is 3.93 for first semester at Ross, so it's a decent start. I'm having trouble making up my mind so I need your opinions!
i mean, applying doesn't really hurt so go for it
Ross has better opportunities and a better network in finance than many of the of the ivies so unless you really care about the ivy tag i'd stay at Ross
Wouldn't do it for Duke
I'd like to pose a counter-question to you OP: How's Michigan? You have a 3.93 at a very top school and you're focused on recruiting from the get-go. Trust me, you're employable. This decision should also have a significant amount to do with your experience and fit at Ross so far, and what would be different at other top schools. So how's your experience at Ross so far?
100% agree. Are you involved in any of the clubs? A friend told me that being in a good club is very important at ross..
