LBS MFA IB Placement

Was looking at LBS's graduating class from their MFA and it seems like the vast majority of people placing into IB had good IB internships prior to the program at MM and BB banks. Is this self selection or are people without top quality IB internships at a disadvantage for recruiting?

It's a 1-year program, so yes, I imagine you would be at a disadvantage without prior experience

Students matriculated in the Program with no prior relevant finance experience apply for SA positions (instead of FT) offers. Simple as is. Same thing goes for every 1-year Masters Program in Europe (not the same as US MSFs). They typically start FT in Jan.-Feb. the year following the summer stint (if return offer granted, of course).

OP: This question's getting old, frankly...

Lmao watch the placement become shit next year (as with other top Masters), currently at one of these top programs and this year has been a fuckin bloodbath, such a waste of time and money. Full tuition of course, because it was never about the lectures in the first place and it is not like we had any other choice with the current job market.

Out of interest, how much of a "bloodbath" it has been? Like in terms of % of people getting interviews
