Anybody have any experience with this? Is it actually reputable? Can you get a job at one of the big 4?

Career Resources
I went here ugrad, and a bunch of my friends work at Big 4 firms due to co-op.....I'm in IB out of ugrad so not sure of the grad program. From my experience breaking into IB was almost impossible and required a ton of networking but if your willing to take a ton of No's and be aggressive I can tell you anything can happen.
Yes, you should have no problem getting a gig at the big4. They take plenty of career changers - if you have the credentials and can communicate like a normal human being, that's usually enough to at least get you in the door. whether you sink or swim is a whole different issue, but worry about that later.
Caveat would be, maybe you don't want a dual MS/MBA. The MBA doesn't help you at all for getting into the Big4, or having them pay you more. They will only care about the MS in Accounting. So, you effectively waste your "MBA" ticket, which you might want to use later (maybe you go for a more prestigious executive MBA and leverage that to a high level exit from Big4, etc). An MBA from Northeastern does nothing for you.
^^ completely agree. Don't waste the MBA if you are trying to geet a big 4 gig - trust me, after a while at big 4 you might want an out ;)
That's exactly my line of thinking actually, but I'm not sure of any other programs designed for Lib Arts majors with limited accounting experience (I took one intro class), although my school is definitely a target for the West Coast accounting firms (have three good friends going to work in the same division at the same location for the same company next year), I did graduate with an economics degree and with latin honors, so I'm hoping that will help me out getting a job from a program like this.
That being said, are you folks aware of any programs that will let in someone with no background in accounting (liberal arts background) that's hoping to do a fast program (the Northeastern 18 months seems very good) that can land them a job in accounting afterwards? But does not include an MBA component as I agree that I can do better than the Northeastern MBA and would like to save the "MBA ticket."
MAcc should do it. There are lots of programs for people who didn't do accounting undergrad...if you did, you probably wouldn't be in the program. Big 4 aren't super selective...could you take classes part time, then network your way into an interview? Accounting is really standard, whether its taught at Wharton or podunk community college.
ANT has a great website: http://macchq.com/
Thanks for the link, I'm a little confused as to a standard masters in accounting. Is it generally open to people who don't have backgrounds in accounting? Or is it generally for people with a background in it. I know I know I know this sounds incredibly stuck up, but name does kind of matter for me, and if I'm going to get any help from my parents it has to be from somewhere with somewhat of a reputation, so community college won't be an option probably. I can undertake the financial burden of going full time if necessary, I would like to do this and finish fairly quickly if possible.
Most require introductory financial accounting, but not much more.
McCombs (one of the best in the country): http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/MPA/Traditional-MPA/Admissions/Pre-Enroll…
USC Levanthal is similar.
But, if you have a good instate option, you will probably have big 4 recruiting and much lower tuition.
