Opinions on SSE’s MSc? Important!

What’s your opinion on Stockholm School of Economics’s MSc in Accounting and Valuation and Financial Management? I know that their Finance MSc is Top 25, but I can’t find much on this program. Is it just as prestigious? What about post graduation opportunities/ recruitment outside Sweden? Lastly, how is it compared to RSM’s same MSc? Any other information is also very much appreciated.

Hey both RSM and SSE are solid schools. Especially for the price of the programs compared to other schools. SSE is really solid for finance but to find a job in the Nordics is tough, unless you speak their local language. The Netherlands is more tolerant, even though speaking dutch will help you have more job prospects. Overall, I would go to RSM just because of the macro-economic environment of the Netherlands and the fact that everyone speaks English (super useful when you graduate).

But both are super solid and you cannot go wrong with any.

SSE offers a semester abroad to top UK and US schools though. How possible is it to land a job in the UK for example (after a semester there), in the post Brexit era ?

I was admitted to SSE MSc in Finance but ultimately went to a different school. From my limited experience SSE seems like a great school. The application was the most straight-forward out of all unis I applied to (and there are some absolutely horrible ones out there like HSG) while still having high GMAT median, the support staff was very responsive and the program directors made an effort to organize events to network with fellow students (I think an Amsterdam trip or something at the start of the program). They have a nice campus and their program is academically rigorous but it is free for students from the EU. Also SSE has some fantastic partner unis for exchange programs. I know some people outside of Sweden who went there and ended up in London but not too many and usually they did Finance or Management.

Thank you for the response. What went wrong if I may ask? Furthermore, what is the London (for example) placement for EU graduates post Brexit? Ultimately I’d love to work in the UK or US. Is an SSE masters going to allow me to do that though ?

I'm not sure about it's placement but if I recall correctly they have student ambassadors that you can chat with on the SSE website. I've found it very useful when I was applying and they have people from many different MSc programs there (sometimes multiple people per program). They will be more helpful.
