Pre-professional Majors & Programs at UChicago

Noticed that UChicago has a lot of more pre-professional majors and programs available for business/finance nowadays. Recently read in particular that the Business Econ degree (a lot less theoretical and math heavy than regular Econ, graduate level courses at Booth) is super popular this year and they are having issues with the massive demand (apparently class sizes are far too big now for UChicago standards).

What are your thoughts on Business Econ, Trott Business Program, Dougan Scholars, etc. ?

Are Business Econ majors viewed as less capable compared to straight Econ students (since they don't have to deal with the extremely theoretical and quantitative courses).

If you participated in any of these, how helpful were they / how much did you learn?

On a side note, are there any specific banks or funds (IB or PE) that UChicago has an especially strong pipeline to?
