Profile Evaluation (MFin)
Hi WSO. I need help figuring out which B-school I should aim for, and would like to hear your objective opinion on my profile.
I'm 22 years old from Scandinavia, with an undergrad degree in business administration from a reputable national B-school.
My GPA is 3,9/5 on the ECTS-scale overall, but my quantitative grades are better.
Of work experience, I am currently working as an Sales-/Logistics-analyst in the national division of a German premium auto manufacturer.
During my studies I held a position as an analyst in the student society's finance club.
GMAT yet to be taken (end of February).
I'm concerned that my profile is to weak for me to be admitted into one of the the top MFin programs in UK/EU (LSE, IE, Imperial...), and that I therefore shouldn't waste time and energy studying for the GMAT. But rather settle for the masters degree in my national university, where I'm guaranteed admittance.
Any thoughts?
Might make sense to give away a bit more information about your profile, otherwise it‘s hard to assess.
It could be…
That said, it’s never impossible to get a place in these programmes, only your chances increase if your profile is more like that first profile. So I‘d do the GMAT and apply either way and just see what happens. Good luck.
Thanks for the input!
I went to BI, and work for BMW in Oslo.
My major concerns is that my GPA isn't strong enough (3,9/5), and lack of experience in the finance industry (e.g. internships).
Do you have any thoughts concerning this?
