RX post-MBA

Can anyone shed some light on the path to RX through business school? Im at a large AM covering institutional clients in an IR/sales capacity. I enjoy the client facing work and the exposure to numerous strategies and asset classes, but i’ve found where I want to focus. I’m debating if i should go back to school with the goal of working in rx, and longterm ambition of ending up back in AM at a smaller SS/Distressed like fund. I’ve had a lot of exposure internally and find it far more interesting and dynamic than other strategies (understand this sentiment might not apply to every shop)

Has anyone considered the same? Maybe you made it to rx and stayed? or went to business school and decided to do something else? Would love to hear anyone’s story here and what it looks like post-mba. thanks!
