Struck out in MBA FT recruiting - looking for advce

2nd year MBA student at a top 15 program. recruited consulting and just couldnt seal the deal with any of the firms i interviewed with. on-campus full-time recruiting is pretty much over now and i'm wondering how to proceed next. i know there will be a lot of tech off-campus jobs that come up in like Feb/March, but im wondering if anyone has any other ideas/advice? anyone else go through anything similar?

Work the job boards. Stuff will be posted periodically and plenty of interesting gigs pop up especially over the Spring. If you're really worried, have Career Services assist you with a self-directed search (tailoring resume, narrowing down fields, forwarding leads etc)

But relax. At a top 15 program everybody gets something. It may not be your dream gig but it should be decent. Lots of Rotational programs, Manager roles, Strategy roles, Biz dev roles, Product Management roles, etc.

Just out of curiosity-what'd you do for your internship?

I did my internship at a big tech company in a finance rotational role. i have a return offer to go back there, but i have no desire to do corporate finance after my MBA. my background is all in accounting/finance and I was really hoping to use the MBA to pivot out of this field into something more on the strategy end (which is the reason i recruited so heavily for consulting)

I'm semi-joking here, but didn't your MBA interviews ask what you would do if your first choice of post-MBA recruiting didn't work out? That one seemed to be common across all my interviews.

You can look into internal consulting roles or strategy groups at F500. It's basically consulting, just you have the same client all the time. Heck, see if you can turn your return offer from your internship into an opportunity in the strategy group at that firm. Good luck!

Nothing short of everything will really do.
