Three Semesters Off of College? Am I Crazy?
I’m a sophomore currently on a gap year from college. Next semester there is a good chance I will have the opportunity for an M&A internship that would be very hard to turn down. Problem is that if I were to take this, this would be my third semester off of school. I’m slated to graduate early, so it would look like I only took a year off on paper. If I were to do this, would this be a red flag for IB and buyside recruiting? I’d rather do this and reap the benefit of the internship now than graduate early. For context, I took the first semester off due to financial reasons and the second one for another internship opportunity.
Doesn't matter. Do the internship and in the CV say "Expected 202x" under graduation date. If they ask you just say financial reason + opportunity to express your interest in M&A. Shouldn't be a big deal at all.
Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it!
