UTAustin vs UMich, UNC, UVA

I hear UTAustin places 100+ students (a ton also not from finance clubs) on Wall Street a year. That’s more than UNC and UVA by far (don’t know about Michigan but I’d guess it’s close). Is that true?? I know there are more That would be a game changer for me in HS

I’m a student at UT. 100+ to high finance roles is true. 100+ specifically in NYC is absolutely not true.

Houston is full of UT grads. Dallas banks are full of UT grads.

I would estimate around 50-60 per year are making to high finance roles in NYC mainly through the Wall Street for McCombs program.

As far as I know, that is not true. There is a post on LinkedIn detailing some of the MS placement, and 8 are sophomores in NY IBD. Still absolutely insane placement, but your number seems slightly high.

There are other sophomores who placed in Houston IBD or other divisions in NYC.

Also, if you find another post referencing 120+ professionals landing in NYC this summer, please note that that number includes graduates who are starting their PE associate stints as well. It’s not just summer analysts and freshly graduated full time analysts.
