UVA Econ or WM Finance?

Hey guys, I am currently about to be a freshman at W&M. At first, I believed that I would do something dental/medicine related and liked the small classes at WM and chose it over UVA. However, I am starting to become interested in banking and was wondering if the UVA Econ degree would be more prestigious than the WM Finance one. I am not confident I will be able to get accepted to UVA's McIntire program as it seems pretty competitive.

Is there a significant disadvantage of having an Economics degrees compared to Commerce? Thanks!

The "just apply to McIntire" advice is great, but achieving a 3.7+ seems ridiculously hard to me. I will attempt to get in but these students are typically brighter than me. Which is why I want to assume that I will just graduate with an Econ degree.
